Severe Injuries too Frequent?

I find when I play OOTP 13 that a majority of the injuries that occur are for several months. However, when I look over the injury report of real-life MLB, I see almost entirely 15-day DL stints. Seems like there should be an option for Injuries that is not only "low," "high," etc., but general severity should be an option too. Or just make the injury engine more realistic.

While I'm at it, I noticed MLB has a 7-day DL this year, yet we don't. Seems like an easy fix?

The 7 day DL is only for concussions, and it might be somewhat difficult to code. It would be nice to have though.

A lot of teams put player's on the 15-day even if they are out for longer. Votto is on it, for instance.

That's true about Votto, but in general, I guess I'm saying it seems the injuries on OOTP 13 are too often for 7-8 months and not enough of 2-3 weeks.

I did not know that the 7-day DL was for concussions only. That probably would be difficult to code, but that's interesting.

Markus has been emphatic that the data used to code injury length/frequency is taken from real life. I feel as you do that the length/severity appears off. Despite what we "feel" the onus is on us to prove that OOTP is not close to RL injuries. There are many threads on this. Do a search and you may find more info.
