Few Quick Questions

Hello all! New to the community here, and I come with a few seemingly easy questions for you OOTP veterans.

I recently purchased a MacBook Pro. It's been killing me not having a baseball simulation on my computer after years of playing Baseball Mogul on my PC (I know - sorry). It seems as if Baseball Mogul does not provide the game for Mac. Unfortunate, but this now means that I get to experience Out of the Park Baseball.

I'm seriously considering purchasing either '12 or '13 from the App Store. This is where my questions come:

1. Is the extra $30 honestly worth it? Is '12 a perfectly capable game at a good price?

2. Are both games as customizable as the PC version? Will mods work on the Mac?

3. What are some basic mods to get me started on a realistic baseball simulation? I'm looking for updated rosters, stats, player photos, logos, etc.

Thank you for any help! Looking forward to being a part of the OOTP community!

1. Yes it's worth the extra money, but personally I'd caution you on where you purchase it. If you purchase through the App Store, you won't get real team names and you have to wait till patches/updates are available in the App Store which can be 1-2 weeks later than when we post them here. You can't use the ones posted here. I'd purchase it directly from here and not the App Store if that's possible for you. Then you will get everything real and quicker patches/updates.
2. Yes..fully customizable and mods do work.
3. You can check the mods forum as there are some there that aren't available from the usual places. ie..ootpmods.com and add-ons central. Add-Ons central is available from the in game menus and will install everything to it's proper place. It has probably the most popular addon which is the all in one mod. It includes everything, photos, ballparks, uniforms, logos, etc. all updated to 2012.
Rosters and stats are continually updated by our devoted roster team including the 2012 draft class.
Hope this helps, welcome to ootp and if you have any questions at all, just ask. Someone will answer asap usually.
Enjoy

Thank you! You answered most of my immediate questions, and I'm extremely grateful for that.

But if I purchase the game from the App Store, it will not be possible to fix the fake team names? It does sound more appealing to purchase the game straight from the website, but the $100 App Store gift card I received with my computer really has no other calling...

I assume he can just get a major league quickstart from someone and load it up? Or if it is just the fictional team names, you can go in in commissioner mode and edit them.

Well, no looking back now. Just charged the $40, and the game is downloading now.

Very excited to immerse myself into OOTP. Might be a struggle at first, and I'm sure I'll be annoying you guys with plenty of questions!
