NuEBL...coming to OOTP13!

Full League Name (Initials): NuEBL
Main URL: NuEBL Website
Reports URL: NuEBL League Reports
Boards URL: NuEBL Forums
Email Address: Please contact brian.eshbach@gmail.com to apply or for further inquiry
OOTP Version: v12, but we will be moving to v13 roughly around June 22nd
Game Needed: Required
Players: The original players used were from the 2010 rosters from OOTP10
# of Teams: 30 teams
Export Deadlines Days And Times: Every night of the week
League Time Per Sim: 3 day sims
First Season: 2010
Latest Season: 2016 (currently in the postseason)
Special Rules & Settings: The league allows full (negative or positive) financial balances to carry over every year without owner interference. This is a scouting league, using 2-8 ratings without a star system.
Currently Available Teams: Wait list

This is a great, very active scouts-on league that has been around since May of 2010. Having been in existence for over 2 real-life years and 7 sim years of history and rivalries, the league has a fantastic group of core owners, and is looking for a few more to round out the open teams in our move to OOTP13. We are currently in the 2016 postseason and will be immediately switching to OOTP13 upon the postseason conclusion.

The sim schedule is unique from most leagues in that the NuEBL has action happening every night of the week - just like the MLB. With the length of the sims being only 3 days long, the NuEBL enables you to closely follow and manage your team throughout the rigors of a 162-day baseball season. As you'll find out, a lot of our GMs are very involved in their teams and will post “fun facts” articles and write-ups on NuEBL happenings.

The league is very punctual on its sims and have exemplary off-season and draft scheduling. The commissioner and simmers have not missed a sim in well over 6 months.

If you’re interested in joining the league or have any questions, please email me at brian.eshbach@gmail.com.

This is a great league with a core of solid GMs, many of whom have been with the league for more than 18 months (real time). Sims are daily and reliable and there is the opportunity to get really immersed with the scouting and coaching options turned on.

If you take on a team in this league I would be prepared to spend a reasonable amount of time on the league - probably not suited to GMs who have teams in 5 leagues.

We are currently completing the 2016 playoffs. Just some background on the vacant teams (you can get more detail from the reports link above or ask Brian):

PHI
90-72 (pyt rec 89-83) Previous GM has moved to an AL team. A well looked after franchise that competes in the strong NL East division. ~$30m cash.

STL
45-117 (pyt rec 47-115) A rebuilding project which will require a quality GM - this is a real challenge. You can earn some kudos if you turn the Cardinals around financially and on the field. Has the #1 pick overall (and pick #20) in the next draft. ~$50m in debt.

CHC
91-71 (pyt rec 81-81) Won the NL Central pennant in 2016. Has 2 first round picks next draft (#5 and #26) as well as 2 of the best LH starting pitcher prospects in baseball. A rebuilding project that has already advanced some way. ~$20m cash.

ARI
55-107 (pyt rec 57-105) A rebuilding project which will require a quality GM. Has pick #3 in the next draft. ~$25m cash.

LAD
77-85 (pyt rec 81-81) A rebuilding project which will require a quality GM. Has 2 first round picks next draft (#6 and #17). ~$5m in debt.

SDP
97-65 (pyt rec 101-61) A quality franchise that competes in the strong NL West division. ~$50m cash.

I joined this league earlier this year and I have loved it. Although it is probably the most challenging league I am currently in, I thoroughly enjoy competing against such a bright group of GMs. From scouts to daily sims, this league has everything that I am looking for and feels as close to the real deal as you can come. I highly recommend joining this league, even if you are taking over a debt riddled team as I have.

If you're looking for consistency and challenge, this is certainly the league to join. Outstanding group of GMs who are highly knowledgeable and competitive. I'll echo Adam's comment about commitment; the league sims 7 days a week (3 days per) and you can micro-manage to your heart's content.

Great league looking for some great new owners. Come join us!

Can I assume that because there is no draft pick trading, that the teams with multiple picks above were unable to sign their #1 picks last season?

Yes, that was one reason of several why some teams have multiple picks. We use the in-game draft allotment for teams to sign their picks.

Updated with open teams.

Still have the ultimate rebuild challenge in STL open. We also have Tampa open due to the move to v13. Tampa is very well-positioned in terms of prospects and current big leaguers.

As Spring Training approaches...

Massive rebuild project, the St. Louis Cardinals are available. St. Louis holds the #1 pick in the upcoming draft, and, given their situation, they will need to be rebuilt from the ground up. They could really use a GM who understands how to guide them through a lengthy retooling process.

Please contact me at brian.eshbach@gmail.com if you think you are up for the challenge.
