Historical league moving into 2012 + feeders
I'm looking to start playing a game in 2012 with current teams in tact (I'd be fine with 2011 as well if that changes anything) but I want to have player history for the 10 years leading up to my start time (I'm ok with fictional history, I just want to be able to see vs. pitcher stats for players on my team). I also want to use an NCAA feeder league to feed fictional players moving forward from 2012.
The route I'm thinking of taking is this.... 1. Create a Historical League for 1992 2. Turn on 1 year recalc to keep stats somewhat close to their actual abilities 3. Enable the option to use real transactions so that in 2012 the players are still on there correct teams 4. Sim through the end of the 2011 World Series 5. Add a NCAA feeder league What I'm wondering is that come 2012 will I be able to do the following or would they not be possible because I'd be starting out with a historical league? 1. Have each clubs minor league teams (If I remember correctly, I don't think they exist when using real transactions) and could I have them contain the players they would contain in real life? 2. Enable story lines (I don't think story lines exist in historical leagues?) 3. Randomize league settings 4. Change to the OOTP development engine. 5. Change to modern day injury setting. Any suggestions on why this wouldn't work or just a better way to accomplish what I'm trying to do would be appreciated! Thanks, Hal |
