Way too many walks/wild pitches?
New to the game and am nearing the end of my season with the 2012 Braves. I'm finding that ALL of my pitchers have a ridiculous amount of walks and wild pitches. Is there some kind of "throw strikes" setting I missed?
Currently - Tommy Hanson 4.0 BB/9, Brandon Beachy 3.9 BB/9, Mike Minor 4.8 BB/9, Jair Jurrjens 4.6 BB/9, Eric O'Flaherty 5.6 BB/9, Jonny Venters 5.0 BB/9. Am I just getting some random bad luck? Could there be something wrong with my strategy settings? |

Well the real life numbers so far, which is a small sample size, are
Hansen 3.4 Beachy 2.8 Minor 2.2 Jurrjens 5.5 O'Flaherty 3.9 Venters 5.4 So Minor is off a bit but the others seem within reason. You need to look at the control ratings of your pitchers as it is hard to tell anything from names. If you think overall walks are high you need to check league wide totals not just your team. If the league overall is substantially higher than say 3.3-3.6/9 then you can go to league setup>strategy and lower the walks ratio. Don't touch the number on the left use the pct number on the right. For example if it is 1.00 lower it to .950 or .900 or what ever pct you need to lower walks. |
