AI Ratings Question

The following sequence doesn't make sense to me. What am I misunderstanding?

1. Scouting is ON and 100% accurate.

2. "Overall rating based on AI evaluation, not pure ratings" is UNCHECKED.

3. Therefore, the 100% accurate scouting should be based on "pure ratings," NOT AI evaluation.

4. BUT when I adjust the AI Player Evaluation Options, overall star ratings change.

So... the "pure ratings" that the 100% accurate scouting uses aren't actually "pure ratings," they are somehow affected by AI Player Evaluation? So what changes if I were to CHECK the "Overall rating based on AI evaluation, not pure ratings" option?

(Or: what else am I misunderstanding?)

Good question, I've never quite understood how that option works.

It's because you're using scouting. You're seeing overall and potential ratings based on the opinion and quality of your scout. Your scout does not necessarily give you accurate or stable ratings.

Changing the AI evaluation options does NOT change the 'real' overall ratings at all. They remain exactly the same.

Right, scouting should allegedly be 100% accurate... so maybe my scout's ratings will determine how many international FA's he discovers, but they should not effect his OVR ratings.

Any other thoughts on this?
