Champions League Baseball
![]() Champions League Baseball is a modern league currently approaching the All-Star break in its first season. We’ve had some tough luck with owners signing up, already knowing they can’t commit long term and they stop playing after a few weeks. Other than this tough luck, we have a very solid core of owners and we’re looking to make it a complete circle. The forums are always hopping with articles and general banter. With an instant messenger program installed on the website, it’s even easier to communicate with other owners. Our guys like to compete, and some have perhaps an unhealthy obsession with their team, but everyone is there to have fun and build on something we think has a chance to be special. We’re looking for other like-minded GM’s. We want the player who is going to take care of his team and be an active community member and socialize with an already social group. We ask you for a certain level of commitment, but that’s not to say we don’t realize you may have a job or a family or other responsibilities. Like I said, everyone is here to have fun. Creating an immersive and social environment is the primary goal of CLB. We welcome owners who would enjoy contributing to these goals, regardless of experience. We welcome both experience OOTP veterans and brand-new to OOTP players! To join, please fill out an application here. We're in the 2013 off-season. It is the perfect time to join! Other Info: Main Boards League Reports Sim Days: Mon and Thurs Time Per Sim: 14 days OOTP Version: 12 Open Teams: Detroit Tigers: Justin Verlander, Prince Fielder, Miguel Cabrera, Alex Avila, this team is built to win the AL Central today. They just need a general manager to guide them to what could easily be multiple runs to the playoffs. Kansas City Royals: With Jordan Zimmerman and Felix Hernandez, the Royals have one of the most talented dynamic-duo at the top of their rotation. They also have firepower with the sticks in Yoenis Cespedes, Eric Hosmer and Mike Moustakas. This team is young and their future is bright. Colorado Rockies The Rockies are home to 2012 National League MVP Carlos Gonzalez. Not far behind in voting was SS Troy Tulowitzki. A couple of right moves later, the Rockies could end up a top the NL West. Philadelphia Phillies The Phillies, behind Lee, Halladay and Hamels are instant contenders. They are also in great shape offensively with Dominic Brownand Josh Hamilton in the middle of the order. New York Mets The Mets were in a tough situation to start 2012. But the team's previous GM has put them on the right path and they are well into a rebuilding phase. Rebuilding around Ike Davis and 2012 Rule IV draft selection Domingo Arteaga, and with a minuscule payroll of 50m, the Mets could be up and running contenders in the very near future. It's been a couple of years since I've been part of an online league. OOTP is great, but I've played it 'solo' for quite sometime. I stumbled upon this league just as they were about to start their first season. I am glad I did.
First off, I'd like to say it is a very friendly environment, the fact that the league has it's own messenger program embedded into the forums makes talking with other GM's as easy as possible. Our commissioner, Ron, has plans to make the forums even more interesting with profiles set up individually for each team to give them their own unique experience. With add on's like a 'CLB Twitter Feed', it makes advertising your trade block so much easier. GM's are able to log on to a community account and post as "The Rumor Mill" allowing teams to get the inside scoop on who is being traded where before it happens.. With a dedicated commissioner, this league will do things other leagues have not and it's already starting to show. There's usually always around 6-8 people online at any given time to talk too, we peaked at 23 owners on at one time last night. About 75% of the league is active, checking their team a couple times a day, the problem we are having is finding the other 25%. With 6 teams open, we are close to having 100% commitment and not many leagues can say that. With that said, I encourage owners who may be apart of another league to give us a try, we've run into too many owners who say they want to be apart of the league only to back out before even diving in.. I am the Baltimore Orioles GM on the website, if you are new to online leagues I am more then happy to tell you everything you need to know. Good luck! |

As co-commissioner of the Champions League, I welcome and invite all interested owners. Our commish, Ron, is the most dedicated commissioners i've come across in my OOTP online playing (currently in 3 leagues), and he's taken steps to make this one of the most interesting and realistic leagues there is. The core of owners is great and we're using an interesting roster pack that changes things up a bit.
Come on down and sign up for CLB! |

This is a great league! The commish goes above and beyond to ensure that people have a great time and have access to all of the latest and greatest tools. The community is also a lot of fun too.

This is a truly exceptional league ... starting in 2012 with roster changes updated through late January you have the Prince in Detroit, Albert in Anaheim and Yu in Texas ...
... and you have an extremely passionte and competent Commish along with a great bunch of GM's. So don't miss your chance and join this league in the early part of the 2012 season - I promise you that you won't regret it !

To those interested in online leagues, but are waiting for OOTP 13, I've got good news for you. We do plan to move to OOTP 13!
We're about to head into the All-Star break and the league is voting. Our draft was incredibly successful and fun, and is spawning an incredible write up reviewing all of the selections. Have a read here: Draft-Day Dramatics |

I agree with everyone
I'm currently in the league as well, and there's no way it could be better or more fun than it is now. Best Commish ever.

Still a couple teams available..
If you are concerned about staying on OOTP 12, well we do plan on making the switch to OOTP 13 eventually. It won't happen right away, it could happen 4-6 months after release.. We are approaching the trade deadline next sim. So now is a time where a GM would normally not be able to make many moves but their is a lot of activity on the forums to keep one interested. If you are interested, register on our forums and send a PM to our commissioner Ron Karkovice. If he is not online, you can speak to myself (eFFeRR) on the forums.. Looking forward to your participation.. thanks |

Diamondbacks have been taken.. 3 teams left
Houston Astros : 44-54 (4th in AL West) Detroit Tigers : 48-49 (3rd in AL Central) Atlanta Braves : 62 - 36 (1st in NL East) The Atlanta Braves have opened up.. it's a good opportunity for someone to keep busy post deadline as they are currently holding off the Phillies for the division lead. |

We've opened up a few more teams for inactivity and other reasons. We've got:
Chicago White Sox: 51-60, 4th place in the AL Central. The real life Kenny Williams really did some (bad) work on this team. But the previous owner overhauled them and has them in a better position to compete sooner rather than later. They now have Clayton Kershaw at the front of the rotation, and their offense is led by 23-year old Dayan Viciedo who has 34 HR and 86 RBI just a few days after the trade deadline. San Diego Padres: 42-68, 5th place in AL West. This is where we really separate the men from the boys. If you're really looking for a challenge and love rebuilding projects while on a tight budget, this is the team you want. Their farm features 14th overall prospect Morris Jackson, 66th overall Rymer Liriano, 76th overall Larry Hayman, 88th overall Jaff Decker, and 100th overall Jedd Gyorko. If you're interested in any of these teams, please head over to our forums, register for an account and send the commissioner, Ron Karkovice a PM with your interest!
