Question About Templates

I setup my league the way I wanted and then saved it as a QuickStart game because I couldn't find a way to save it as a template. I think, after doing some reading, that you are supposed to select the save as template when you first select a new game.

Is there a way to save this as a template after I have set everything up & before I hold my inaugural draft?

If not, does my saving it at that point as a QuickStart game basically do the same thing as a template for when I want to start another year with this same setup?

I also want to save it as either a template, if possible at this step, or as a QuickStart game after I have populated the league from the inaugural draft so to continue with the next season.

(Edit) I think I found it. After I started the season, the template button is now showing in the league's game setup screen. I'm pretty sure that wasn't there before so I think this is the way it works. Still learning to do the same things I did in Strat-O-Matic in a much different way here in OOTP.
