Fixlist for 1.2.1
As mentioned somewhere the 1.2.1 patch is in final testing. Here is a list of fixes:
- Control Potential visible on Pitching Rating page for Batter - Added star ratings on default view for iPad - made player boxes on Field View 50% bigger and raised font size from 14 to 16 - improved speed between batters/innings on Field View (still small lag due to big screen size/stadium photo) - added the possibility to edit team-color + team-text color on team edit screen (to make some team combinations better readable)

I appreciate the dialog with Palli and the responsiveness to the issues raised by the customers. That service part is something I don't feel some of the other sim games get.

To be honest, it is the easiest way to improve a game: listen and communicate. And it is even a fun way to work, so a win-win situation.
![]() I have a list with improvements and new features that is long enough for the next three versions, saves me/us a lot of time we can use to work on (i)OOTP.

Not even I have the power to do that and I can do whatever I want with the game.

Two modest suggestions
Sorry, make that three. I might be missing a way to do these things. If not, how about . . .
1. Giving us some signal, in the game view, when a pitcher becomes tired. As it is, when a pitcher gets towards the end of what I think his stamina will allow, I find myself leaving the game to the "pitcher/batter" screen after every at bat to see if he has tired. 2. Letting us "visit the mound" (i.e. ask the pitcher how he is doing) while our team is at bat. 3. Showing the status of all pitchers on one screen. Before a game, I'd like to know which of my relievers needs more rest. Similarly, when I go about selecting a relief pitcher, I can't find a way to see if a pitcher is fully rested (unless I completely exit the game and go to the active roster). These are not complaints! iOOTP is a great game. Last edited by McGuiser; 10-16-2011 at 09:26 PM. Reason: Added a third item |

Palli, thanks again for listening and being so approachable. Here's a big suggestion: any chance to have the option to play preseason games? That way a manager can try out some younger players who might be on the cusp of making the roster - it's amazing how some of these guys jump up big-time in their ratings with big-league exposure while some crash and burn. Would be a good chance to guesstimate how they'll perform, which then impacts how you shape your roster in the preseason. Otherwise, there's really no need to even have a 'preseason begins' banner. Thoughts?

One feature that will definitively makes it into 2012 will be an (optional) Assistant, that will help you with stuff like "your pitcher seems to get tiered, maybe it is time to bring in a replacement". Our goal it to make it easier to get into the game.
I can't promise a print option but it is something I would love to add so it is pretty high on my personal list. I have to check with Markus and Andreas about it. As we are on the topic: Development for 2012 is already started and I will make sure that we add something for everyone (as in: actual rosters, historical and fictional).

Great news on the fix list & future feature list. Would really love to see some way to edit the player's attributes. Hate playing a historical game and seeing someone like Steve Carlton or Fergie Jenkins importing with a stamina rating of 1 or 2.

Infield/outfield options
Just purchased the iOOTP app and I'm loving it. Very happy to have a true sim on my iPad. Congratulations and thank you for making it happen.
Having said this, I have one item that I would very much like to see in a future release and would really appreciate. After setting infield or outfield options the manager cannot see that anything has been changed. Example: select "infield" and the pop up menu appears. Select "infield in" and there is no visual evidence that in fact the infield is "in." This is the same for any of the options selected. It is very important as the manager that I can see any infield/outfield changes that I have made until such time as they are no longer in affect (I'm assuming 1 batter). But more importantly is that I see any infield/outfield changes the AI has made. it makes all the difference in the world if my AI opponent has brought the infield in whether I decide to squeeze a runner home. Could you please consider an on the field display showing the status of the infield/outfield? Finally, in a nice to have, showing ball flight as in the computer version would be a terrific upgrade. Thanks for your consideration. If an on the field display is not possible, maybe the button color or wording color in the button could change to indicate that an infield/outfield option has been selected and is in effect. And when the popup menu is displayed the option in affect would also have a different color. Last edited by burrwick; 10-21-2011 at 07:57 PM. Reason: New thought. |

flight?
funny. I guess everyone is different. I hate the flight of ball thing and turn it off on every baseball game I play. If I wanted to play Playstation Baseball I would play it

I find it adds to the experience to actually see where the ball goes. As I said though, just a nice to have and if it where available certainly should be an option.

understand
yes...they could have been made to be a little smaller than they are. but at least it is way better than it was. too bad there is not an option for the user to set the size. but bigger than they were and slightly smaller than they are would have been perfect I guess but they did a good job of trying to make it better.
