Talking OOTP 12 Update #4, Version 12.4.27 available!

Hey guys,

we have just released update #4, which is a maintenance release and fixes/tweaks/adds the following:

- We added a new internal player rating: 3B/2B ratio. When this rating is set in the editor, it will be used for determining the triples rate of an extra-base hit (instead of the player speed rating). This rating is automatically set for all historical players upon import, improving statistical accuracy. Fictional players occasionally get a rating applied as well.
- Added the real 2011 draft class to the MLB quickstart. You need to start a new game for them to appear, though.
- Trades now work even when a team has a negative projected balance, as long as the balance improves or stays the same through the trade.
- Several problems with contract negotiations have been fixed.
- Players now react faster to minor league contract offers.
- During the offseason, lesser talented free agents demand minor league contracts more often.
- Changed the behavior of the "Meet Demand" button in contract negotiations. It now takes the player demands and automatically asks for the player's response to that offer.
- Made the number of international free agents generated a bit less predictable.
- Tweaked teams spending behavior, resulting in less instances when great free agents go unsigned for a long period of time.
- Tweaked default financial numbers in fictional leagues to give teams more money to work with.
- Tweaked OOTP 11 league importing for more stable financials.
- The diagnosis for a 'delayed' injury now appears sooner sometimes, the typical delay is 1-4 days.
- After deactivating an OOOL league, it will automatically be a standard online league now.
- In OOOL leagues, the league URL and all other text values can contain "less than" and "greater than" characters now.
- OOOL league browser contains link to league web sites and info about each league now (move mouse over league name).
- Fixed a bug that made downloading an online league file fail.
- Fixed the problems with the "clear league file cache" feature.
- Fixed several small bugs.
Important: Online leagues commishes using the patch must make sure all league members use it as well!

Update Information:
To update, you can either download the full game and simply install it over your existing OOTP 12 installation (no need for uninstallation or unlicense), or download and install the patch (PC only). Here are the download links:

No need to release the license before installation. No need to uninstall the current version. Just install on top of your current OOTP 12 installation and it will automatically update all the new files.

This update is NOT the one originally promised to introduce a couple of new features. There will be another update (the final one for OOTP 12) released later in September where we'll add new useful stuff, for example a GM history page (listing all you past transactions etc) and some preseason articles with season projections.

Markus, looks fantastic, looking forward to checking it out tonight.

I know there's been some effort put into improving the MLB quickstart roster set-- was this included in the patch?

Yes, the latest version of the roster set is part of the patch. It includes the entire 2011 real draft class (Gerrit Cole et al) and tons of edits to player ratings, mainly minor leaguers.

How about the issues with the financial screen showing inaccurate numbers, particularly for Mac users?

Edit: Yes, when all members of the online league are on the same version this problem corrects itself.

Yes, that is fixed automatically once all members + commish of your league use the patch.

Is the arbitration bug fixed (where players get the original estimate rather than the revised submitted amount when the arbiter rules in favor of the team)? This is kind of critical.

I am not aware of a problem here. I just checked the code and all looks fine, so I have no idea why you're seeing this...

Will the new internal player rating 2b/3b kick in during recalc? I'm about 50 games into the 1960 season. Just wondering if I should start over?

i am wondering how the speed for a player is calculated on an import in the first place? i import a lot of players, and most of them seem to be very slow. i dont know if that is because i import them at age 15? there should be a way to enter stats, and that recalculates as well when you edit players. same with stealing ability. also when i import players, they are all fragile. when in reality, at age 15, they should be unbreakable.

wrong country bug appears fixed........... for now
it even fixed a league that was imported before that was affected, that i did not expect

Great job Markus.

Now if i can only turn on dynamic evolution for my league that's in 2010
was able to in 11 by making a template, gave me the option then and stayed even after game started, but it's gone after import any idea why? and if possible give us the option to turn it on even though my league is "historical"

Except there was never a patch released for the Mac in this instance, only the PC version. So just to confirm, is there a fix for the Mac related to this problem?
