Can you use real players in an entirely fictional league?

I know you can start a historical game and then randomize team cities and names, but I want to be able to start a fictional league with real players and have it develop and evolve organically with expansions, relocations and rules changes, rather than follow the fixed development of real baseball.

Yes you can, but you'd have to import them one at a time and they won't be part of your draft class.

I did come across an option in League Setup in my fictional league to automatically import real historical rookies. I am hoping that that means the league I just began in 1900 with fictional players will start using real players with each amateur draft.

Technically, they're all fictional leagues.

When you play it long enough it becomes very real!

I think you can do this by unchecking "automatically expand league" under league setup/historical. I hope you can, because that is what I am planning to do, too. To be doubly sure, you might also delete the "historical team ID" and "historical franchise ID" under team/options and ballparks, although that part might not be necessary, it wouldn't hurt.

Then I believe whatever names, cities, logos etc. you apply to the teams will remain, and expansion and such will be up to you.
