Rename your current save folder ( .lg) to something different (add _old to the name for example). Then you will be allowed to select and restore your backup. The program will not write over an existing league with a backup of the same name.

As an aside, I frequently zip my league folders and name them according to the current real date. Thus, I have zipped league folders named "League.8.22.11.lg" for example. I keep a few of these around, "just in case". You can then move/copy your buggered league folder and unzip a backup quickly.
I don't use the built-in league backup function. I find it easier if I control the backups and name them as I want. Plus I need the zipped files to transfer from my desktop to laptop PCs and this makes it easier. |
