Historical game setup with fictional players
Decided to start a seperate thread on this to hopefully get more eyes on it. I want to play a historical game in terms of teams, stadiums and financials but with fictional players. How do I go about doing that? I can delete all historical players but I get weak draftees in return. If I just create a custom league from scratch, I would lose historical expansion, rght?
Any ideas? |

You can expand your custom fictional league manually at any time, so that's not an issue at all. When 1961 comes around, just add the Mets, Astros, Angels, and Senators while you move the existing Senators to Minnesota to become the Twins.

You're doing the right thing, but try this.
Once you have that first crop of so so draftees, sim 25 or 30 years. Then delete the league history, player stats if you wish, player service time, then start again. By that time the lousy guys are gone and you're getting decent fictional players for the correct era. |

I can release all players to FA, then delete FA then have the AI fill rosters to maximum and I get good players but only the ML 25, I can't get any Minors players even though I checked "full minors required" at setup

You have to fill each league seperately, AAA, AA, A, and so on. Just select each league from the drop down (top right) and then use the fill all teams with fictional players option.

In the past when I've tackled this type of league the one thing you want to remember is start the league in Commish mode. In other words don''t pick your team of choice until after you fill all levels of your minor leagues. If you pick a team first for some reason your minor leagues will not create players.
I'm sure it's me , but it's happened a few times, drives me crazy.
