Post season roster rules
When playing a historical league, should post season roster rules be enabled or disabled?

The option to select this is here:
Game setup/League setup/rules/Post season roster rules Then you have a choice to disable or enable

The playoff roster rules should always be used. The August 31st requirement to be post-season eligible has been around a long time (since 1940 at least, and most likely earlier than that).

I'm pretty sure that in 19th Century baseball, they didn't have any special rules for post-season rosters (whoever you had could play).
I'm not quite as sure, but fairly confident, that there were no special requirements for Worlds Series' rosters when the Fall Classic was instituted. The first Series wasn't even officially sanctioned by Organized Baseball; the two teams just took upon themselves to play. There was no Series in 1904, but it was NOT canceled, the two teams just didn't negotiate to play. I would be VERY surprised is the August 31 requirement was in place for the 1905 Series and has been in there ever since...... |

That raises a little tweak that I think ought to happen for historical leagues: if the New York Giants win the 1904 NL pennant, then there should be no World Series (accurately reflecting the animosity between the Giants' owner and the AL president). But if a team other than the Giants wins the NL pennant in 1904 in the historical league, then a World Series should be held (as there probably would have been in real life).
