60 day DL and Financials

Is there some way to prevent the MiLB managers from puting injured players on the 60 day DL. I let the computer manage my minors and when a guy on the 40 man gets hurt for a long time they put him on the 60 day DL. I don't like this because it gives him service time and when he is healed he has to go back on the 40 man. Sometimes I can't figure out how to put him back on the 40 man, there is space but the option does not appear in the menu and drag and drop doesn't work, forcing me to place him on the active and demote him or waive and DFA him.

Also, has anyone come up with financial settings that are pretty close to the modern MLB? The default seems a little low and star FA are asking for around $14 million instead of $20 million like the Sabathias and A-rods of our world do.

Bear in mind what players are asking for and what they end up signing for are different. I haven't reached free agency in the MLB set in 12 yet, but in earlier versions, I recall having the players begin with low end demands, only to see the bidding bring, in one example, Prince Fielder to a salary of over $30M.

Agreed, carl crawford got a 6/180 for my league last year.

FA asking and signing for too little is a known bug that is supposed to be fixed in the new patch. As for the AI putting your guys on 60 day DL, yeah, it sucks. There is no way to stop it or easily fix it sadly. I hate that crap.

Please clarify the above:

Are you seeing cases where a player currently on option with a minor league club gets injured and then is later placed onto the major league 60-day DL? If that is indeed the case, that shouldn't happen. (And wouldn't happen in real life since there is a 60-day DL in the minors, though the minors don't need to free up reserve roster space in the same major league clubs do.)

I haven't done any testing in 12, but I know this was the case in 11. If I have a guy optioned to the minors and he is hurt, when I try to put him on the DL, the options are 15 and 60-day instead of 7 and 15-day.

The way the game is working is a player on the 40 man in the minors goes on the 15 day or 60 day DL not the 7 day minor league DL. If I have a guy on the 40 man who gets injured I only have the option to put on the 15 day or 60 day DL regardless of if he on the 25 man or not.

Yea same. It's really annoying. When a minor leaguer who's on the 40-man roster gets injured I just have to leave them and not put them on the DL since I can't put them on the minor league DL.

That's not good. Nor correct.
