The AFBL has openings.
Wow, I hope this notice doesn't get lost in all the new leagues opening up! The AFBL has two teams available. First, a little about the league.
The AFBL has just completed its 6th season (1966). We are a fictional league that does NOT use financials or coaches. The premier players in the AFBL include: Brock Rutherford Sidd Finch Nuke LaLoosh Roy Hobbs Clu Haywood Rick Vaughn...among many others. The Cincinnati Pioneers and the Flushing Bridegrooms are looking for responsible ownership. Cincinnati finished second in their division last season, and will most likely be competitive sooner than the Flushing squad. Flushing finished third, but lost 90 games. Of course this means that they've got a great pick in the upcoming rookie draft. And Flushing is also the team of a 27 year old Roy Hobbs. The league is stable and has a great core of owners. If you're interested, check out the website here, and contact me via email.

No Skoonj in the premier player list? Hmmrph!
Flushing is in my division so they might be contending sooner than expected. All my guys are starting to feel the effects of age. I'm looking forward to how things play out now that the league is old enough to have another generation of players start entering the mix while older stars are beginning to retire. This is a solid league, no suprises and very reliable commissioner.

Hear ye! Hear ye! If "fictional" is your thing, then please consider joining the AFBL. I have been an owner since its inception and enjoyed every minute. The commish is reliable, fair, and reliable. Sims are run on time and the web site is updated regularly. I hope you'll consider joining.

I sent an e-mail about the vacancy. Now we'll see if our foreign policy debates will disqualify my candidacy

I was only listing the "name" players. Certainly ol' Skoonj Castenada is one of the premier players. He's been a monster since day one.I just checked. Skoonj has never gotten LESS than 206 hits in a season. Had he entered the league a few years younger, he'd undoubtedly be the All-Time "Hit-King" of the league.

All these guys have heard of Skoonj! In fact, even people who don't play OOTP know who Skoonj is. Just the other day I was in line at the grocery store and some guys were saying how they couldn't believe the Knicks choked AGAIN despite ol' Skoonj hitting almost .500 in the playoffs.
Ok, so I really live in some OOTP fantasy world. ![]() I just had to throw him some media hype here in this thread because it looks like he finally took a ratings hit due to age. His contact against righties went from 10 to 9. *sobs uncontrollably*
