Why can you only trade for 3 players, but give up more?

I am just curious why you are allowed to trade away more than 3 players, but only can receive up to 3. Is this supposed to happen or a bug?

Don't think they've mentioned for certain if it's a bug or not, but look at it another way: How often do massive trades involving more than 6 players (or more than 3 players from one team) happen? It's very rare. So if you want to play for a little more realism, stick to 3-for-3.
