Important question about increasing the number of Rookies in draft

I was wondering if it was possible to increase the amount of rookies that are available in the free agent draft. The problem being, my league i ssupposed to have 8 ounds of rookie drafting. I was unaware to the fact that my settings had it set on 5 instead of 8. The league is in the middle of offseason FA signing and I am not sure it is possible at this point of the offseason (just before the draft) to add more to the pool. I need 90 more players to make it an 8 round draft. Anyone have any ideas?

You can generate players and select "create youngster" and "make available for rookie draft" when they are created. It will ask you those questions when you generate them.

The only problem is, when you do this...it messes up the ability to do spring training through FTP export. Any team that has players that were manually generated that year will receive errors when you try to import the ST roster files.

I think the safest option is to conduct a 5 round draft this year, change your league settings to match the amount of draft rounds your league rules state, and then things will go back to normal next season. If you allow GM tweaking with spring training then you pretty much are stuck with a choice of either 5 rounds this year or not allowing GM tweaks in spring training.

While you are changing your league settings, may as well make sure your other league rules have been set up properly too.

An alternative... if people are really wanting 8 rounds... Is to create the rookies after Spring Training and hold 3 more rounds just before opening day. Create the players in the FA pool and do the draft on a message board, via lists, whatever. The new players will not have the benefit of having a ST, but you will have three more players per team.
