Your All Time Best Team?
Whats your best Regular season and reg sn + postseason team?
My ABF Chicago Fire went 129-29 .816 to win the North. I'll be back in 2 days with what they did in playoffs. To win the world series I need 7 more wins. |

My best (in 17 ootp seasons) is 94-26 (.783)
The team scored 898 runs while giving up 493. Great season but would fall short of your awesome one. Just glad I am not in your league... With those records, second place would really stink...

Best team for me...Chicago Glaciers, Best season: 146-16
After a 20 year sim, I took them over in 1998. They had made the playoffs 7 times, but had never won the big series. Perfect candidate for me...and I liked the name. They started off a bit underwhelming, but well. 1997: 78-84 1998: 93-69 1999: 70-92 2000: 92-70 In 2004, they captured the first world series title in their history after a 101-62 season. Strong batting was the key with some very good pitchers sprinkled in. Top Stars: 30yr 1B Faro Ramirez 348/466/754 (66HR, 183RBI) 36yr SS Shinsaku Kosaka(yes his name is that cool) 328/491/650 (45HR, 10 SO!!!) 24yr RF Sol Jimenez 295/366/555 (43HR) 25yr CF Zaniel "Topper" Rice 330/423/741 (54HR) Rice has still not hit less than 42HR in a year and its 2012. Top 2 Starters with ERAs of 3.84 and 3.85...others in the mix 4.80 and 4.82...5th position was infrequently used and had a good run without injuries...or I may not have gotten the pennant. Fast FORWARD...to...2008...146-16 and their 3rd WS win...following a 131 win effort the previous season. How did this season come about? Pitching. I managed to get the League Ace, Jeffrey Sexton, to come to Chicago via trade. Gave up future considerations as well as some top talent to get him. I had guys waiting in the wings and could afford it. Add him to a rotation featuring 2 young studs (4th and 5th ML seasons)coming into their own, a guy having his career year, and a resurgence of an older #3/#4 pitcher throwing an era of 3.43 and you have a monster rotation. Sexton's career era is 1.53. The Charlotte Stars were willing to part with the 37yr old in 2007 for the best 2B in the game, 2 pitching prospects, a good offensive catcher, an awesome defensive SS with above average bat, and an upgrade in RF. Oh...and my top 2 experienced starters. I cringed a bit, but with Ray Caraway and Brayan De La Garza becoming top flight starters and several nearly ready prospects ready to take over in RF...I pulled the trigger. The stars are still the #2 team in the league after the trade(won 112 games in 2008)...and Sexton's career ended at 39 (2009) due to an arm injury. Sure I probably would have won the WS anyways...but 146 wins? Including 2 pitchers with 29+ wins(29-0, 30-3)...epic. 2008: Team ERA 2.25 and Team OPS 943 |

Those are some insane winning percentages. I'm just barely managing to stay above .500 with my '72 Rangers

2nd best record in my league was San Jose Sharks at 90 wins...they tied me up at 1 a piece in the NLCS. In the South the Atlanta Peaches had 86 wins.
My team is stacked from top to bottom, but I am 14 million overbudget. below is my top 5 best players. I also play in a HR friendly park which helps. |

132-30. I actually did this in just my last season, I had a team that had really matured with some stellar 4th and 5th year players, while at the same time I had an incredible set of rookies ready to come up from AAA to fill in. I had to pick and choose which of those older guys to keep this year, and my team has struggled to maintain a .700 win percentage.
I'm planning on resigning as soon as I lose a series, but right now its 3 in a row and going for a 4th. |

I had to join in, while I can't match or even come close to the 140+ wins I've got the a really good run going with the St Louis Cardinals who I took over after a 30 year fictional sim from 1980-2009.
As at the start of 2010 the Cardinals had made the playoffs just twice, the worst performance of any franchise and had managed only 9 + .500 seasons. Coming off a 78-84 record in 2009 we somehow managed a WS win collecting a 98-64 record with no major trades. However 2010 was the second MLB year of my star 1B Vicente Sancez who at just 22 years of age hit .301, 53 HR and 119 RBI. Basically a number of AI draft picks were starting to come together. 2004 230th Pick SP Isaac 'Jammer' Blackley 2005 13th Pick SP Bob Martin 2006 35th Pick 1B Vicente Sanchez 2007 2nd Pick SP Tim 'Ice Cream' DeWitt These 4 players formed the core of a dynasty that has currently netted the following from 2010 through 2018... - 9 straight playoff appearances - 4 World Series Championships (includign 3 in a row from 2015-2018) - 6 seasons of 100+ wins - A best record of 117-45 in 2015 - No less than 95 wins every season During these seasons I've had some real one or two season wonders but the St Louis career records of those 4 players has been fantastic plus another STUD Pitcher my scouts found in Korea in 2012 aged just 22 called Sung-ho 'Headgame' Pak. SP Isaac 'Jammer' Blackley 141 wins, 4.27 ERA, 4 All Star selections SP Bob Martin 193 wins, 3.65 ERA, 6 All Star selections and 1 Cy Young Award SP Tim 'Ice Cream' DeWitt 106 wins, 4.03 ERA, 2 All Star selections SP Sung-ho 'Headgame' Pak 105 wins, 3.42 ERA, 5 All Star selections, 1 Cy Young award, 21 complete games, 7 shutouts 1B Vicente Sanchez 1746 hits, 416 HR, 1120 RBI, .303, 5 All Star selections (on track for HoF) With those star pitchers I've also needed a gun closer, Luke 'Fly By Night' Turner, picked up in free agency, has racked up 263 saves and a 2.09 ERA in 7 seasons. Other players to really make a mark during our run have been: 1B Manuel Gonzalez .369 in his first full MLB season (2018) including 47 HR and a new MLB record 437 total bases 1B/DH Tak-wai Chuang .307, 56 HR (St Louis record), 147 RBI (St Louis record) in 2014, went on to collect 224 HR for St Louis before being traded midway through 2018 due to the emergence of Manuel Gonzalez 3B Craig Wall 10 seasons with St Louis (2007-2-16) plus 6 with the White Sox (2001-2006) netted him a .293 average, 2784 hits, 411 HR and 1459 RBI and a Hall of Fame position SP Wei-qiang Chaim denied all of his stats to grab 88 wins and only 32 losses from 2011-2016 with St Louis and an ERA of 4.24 (season best of 3.38 in 2013) During my time with St Louis we have had a very settled lineup with the following number of players making it on to the starter lists in the history records. C - 3 (One player only used for one season) 1B - 1 (Sanchez) 2B - 3 (One player only used for one season) 3B - 3 (Unsettled after Craig Wall retired) SS - 7 (Most unsettled spot on my lineup) LF - 3 CF - 5 RF - 3 SP - 13 CL - 2 Wow, after writing all of that I should've put it in the story section

well i finished 135 - 34 overall i won the NLCS 3-1 and lost the world series 4-2 to a 84-74 Phoenix Coyotes team that i beat 3-1 in regular season. my pitching was the worst I have ever seen. I had 3 20 game winners. and my MR leftie specialist had a .106 opp avg .034 to lefties .126 to righties. in 35 ip. I lost the 1st 3 games and i avg 7 runs per game. won games 4 & 5 8-6 & 9-0 lost game 6 7-1.....On the positive side i should have 1 more great yr before things even out.. Even with all the cost cutting moves i made in the offseason I still retained 7 of my 8 starters. resigned my 1B to a 3 yr contract, resigned my C to 4 yrs and my CF to 7 yrs. and my #1 SP to 3 yrs.....I have Andre dawson and Ichiro competing with Jody Gerut for the 2 back up Of spots in sT. and Ozzie Guillen competing with 3 others for the last middle IF spot. after 2009 Ichiro or Dawson will take over in RF.
I'll post in here next season if i can win 110+games. |

When I first got going in OOTP 6.5, I created a team with myself and a bunch of my friends as the batters and a bunch of completely maxed out pitchers. Went something like 152-10 playing out the last 2 innings of each game. As far as my best record, I've probably simmed around 150 seasons on a bunch of different save games that I actually didn't cheat in, most of which are currently gone. In my best one (currently in my 23rd season) my best record is 105-57, achieved twice. In the first of the two, my current Hall of Fame catcher Esteban Negron hit .332 with a league record 59 home runs and starting pitcher (AND ROOKIE) Alex Diaz went 18-7 with a 3.33 ERA. Not bad to kick off a career that finished with a 4.64 ERA. That was in the 9th season of the league.
The second time it happened was 4 seasons later, with Esteban Negron hitting 51 homers towards the end of a 10 year span in which he hit 442 home runs. At the same time, 26 year old Edwin Walsh hit 56 homers in his 7th season. Walsh would go on to pass Negron as the career leader in home runs in the league, being the first to reach 600 in the league (although he has 580 with my team as I was forced to trade him to expedite a rebuild and give him another championship chance ).
