League banner...of a different sort
Hi
I love what you did with the Sandlot Baseball League Would you be able to do a header banner for my hockey league? 998*100 in size and the primary color is #660000 with white and black accents... I realize its a bit outside the norm...but...you guys do such a great job and I'm hoping you can help a brother out... I'd like to replace the header on the website but need something snazzy to replace it with...website attached...I need to leave the space for the sign-in bubble on the right side of the header. DCHL Much appreciated (as always) in advance... Last edited by DCHL; 04-13-2011 at 09:11 PM. |

Looks like your current banner is 998 x 120, not 998 x 100.
Do you want the 100 height or the 120? |

I looked at your page, and some things jumped out at me.
1st, I left the E in league 'dangling' over the login box... which should work for the home page at least. Not sure if it would work for any other pages. 2nd, I didnt know if the login box should be white or empty. Also, I made then 120 px in height, but I can shrink them to 100 px. I left a black border on the bottom and a white border on the top so it transitions seemlessly (hopefully). I orginally centered the name text, but it blocked the C and H in DCHL so you couldnt tell what letters they were. (these converted to JPGs... I have the PNGs if you actually want any). EDIT!.. it doesnt show cause they are now JPGs, but the top 2 have a 'blank' (not white) Logon box for you. I added a little light flash on two of them. Not sure how I feel about it, so I posted with and without. Last edited by Gern44; 04-14-2011 at 02:22 PM. |

I started working on this before I saw the last post. I went back to re-read the request and saw it. So, I didn't bother to continue with mine. Yours is great! I especially like the 2nd and 4th ones.

Dav, the DCHL is missing out if you don't put forth a Banner attempt!

Hi
Here it is in place...looks like perhaps the text overwraps onto the log-in bubble... Looks really sharp though... Here it is in place... DCHL I love the ones that Gern made (amazing as always...you're an amazing talent) but if anyone has any other takes on it...I'd love to see them. I'd really love to be able to cycle through a few different looks occasionally to keep the optics looking fresh. Thanks guys....VERY much appreciated... Last edited by DCHL; 04-14-2011 at 08:57 PM. |

I intentionally let the text overlap into the log on bubble... i visioned it as giving the header some flow.
Here's the Link to the PNG for the one you used... I recommend using it, as it will look 'sharper'. Also, I can adjust it if you dont want that 'e' flowing into the logon box. And of course you wont hurt my feelings if you dont want to use it. Well, not much. Ok, a little, but I'll get over it! ![]() http://i1011.photobucket.com/albums/.../Banner_02.png

Hi
I do want to use it...if it isn't too much trouble I'd also like to see how it looks without the flow into the white bubble as well... The issue is once a team logs in...the image they've uploaded populates the left portion of the bubble...not a deal breaker but I'd like to experiment to see which works better... http://www.kellythedog.com/dcharron/home.php?team=0 www.dchlhockey.com (alternate website) |

Hi
I love it...its great alternate to the one Gern did...I'll use it along with Gern's. Love them both... My 5th season is almost over...I plan to introduce the new header banners for our upcoming season. I've tested them and they look fantastic... Any others are welcome...more the better. The art work is a great addition to the league... MUCH appreciated! http://www.kellythedog.com/dcharron/home.php?team=0 www.dchlhockey.com Last edited by DCHL; 04-15-2011 at 12:38 AM. |
