Quick question about historical league

Alright just watching Braves v DET on ESPN and want some OOTP time. I'd love to start a historical league from the 1871 and play aslong as i can but my question is this...

is it best to have the minor leagues when starting in 1871? and if so which leagues or all of them?

thanks for any help!

You can start no More then say a AAA anytime before say 1880 because u wont have enough players to fill anything up beyond just 1 level much before then.

In my league I have a AAA and I am in 1899 and I have a total of 12 players there most I have had at AAA was 31 in 1894 and anyone with a 0 rating at any position i released.

In most historical leagues, while its nice to get some unknown players minor league stats they arent necessary until 2010 when u run out of historical players.

So if u create any minor league teams just make sure u have just 1 level, and i try to make sure they play 10-20 less games then MLB, but thats just me.

Chicago fan you are like my saviour on this fourm haha!

So from what you've said is it worth starting a historical league or just to start a new MLB game instead?

Also! (sorry for all the Qs) If i started with say Brooklyn Atlantics, what would happen when i finish their last season (1875 was it?) would the team just disappear and i would auto take over the new team? or would i be like fired then have to apply for jobs?

thanks!

It depends on what u like I have several leagues that Ihave going although I am only playing 1 for the time being. I do love my historical league....the OOTP historical is different then real life...they bring in the Chicago White Sox in the AL in 1882 vs 1900 as far as Brooklyn Atlantics i thought the game turns them into the Bridegrroms then Dodgers but not positive.

Another thing that 1998 Yankees doies is a fictional historical league no real players and in that regard u can do a full minors with fictional players...i think...pm him to ask him.

there r a few teams that disband but I havent gotten to that point in my league.

Depend of the database you use to play. I use the Gambo database and you have more than enough player to fill 3 minor league team after 4 or 5 years (just a starting rooster with 1 or 2 pitcher by team is more than enough since there aren't a lot of games). I even had AAA, AA, A, SA full and RL (only for the player drafted the year before) before the expension draft of 1882.

Maybe it's depend of the number of player you had on the Major League team and the aging factor (forgot the exact name for it), but had minor level filled wasn't a problem in my league. Just as an example this is 1874 season for my franchise :

Major League team

AAA team

AA team

A team

SA team

RL team

Of course the two lowest level aren't that filled, but they were just a couple of season after.

they are in the league history. You select the team and the year and you'll get them.
