License

I've been out of the loop on this game since OOTP9, I would just like to know if purchasing a license gets me access to both MAC & PC. IE: i can install the game on a MAC & PC using the same license number or do i have to purchase a license for both?

Thanks

I believe you get a license that will work on both since the order form doesn't differentiate between the two when preordering. That was not the case with OOTP10.

It works on both.

fhomess - Yes, with OOTP 11 your license works on both platforms, Mac & PC. You only needed a seperate purchase for Linux.

OOTP 11 was the first version with the cross platform licensing.

Also keep in mind that (At least in 11) the licensing used a different scheme and companies, so your options to switch may be limited. But as far as Mac/PC goes, as others have said, you should be fine as it sounds like they're interoperable.

I originally purchased OOTP11 to run on my Linux-based laptop, which has since died, and unfortunately cannot get a license for my windows PC (Which I can't switch to Linux due to work reasons, sadly).

OOTP12 can't come out soon enough -- I'll be buying the Windows version this year.

Will one license also work on two computers? If I install the game at home as well as at work, will I need two copies?

From the support site ( How many copies of the game can I install? - Kayako eSupport Help Desk Software )

Each purchase of an OOTP Developments game results in a license to install and run the game simultaneously on up to TWO computers. However, those two computers must use either the same operating system, or another operating system on which the license can be shared.
