Just wanted to say "Thanks!"

Thank you Markus and OOTD for creating the greatest baseball sim ever invented. As appreciation for my favorite game developer who listens to their fans and works their butts off for bringing us as many features as possible, I will not be pre-ordering the game at 25% off the top. I shall order the game when the sale ends, and pay the full price for OOTP 12.

Once again,

Thank you OOTD. You have no idea how much enjoyment I get out of such a great product! Keep up the good work!

If it would make you feel better, you can buy a copy for me, but wait till the sale is over so you can buy it at full price so you can feel REALLY good about yourself.

A very nice gesture.

I hope a lot of the OOTPB Community does likewise.

I'm doing the same... paying full price is the least I can do to support the creators of my off-season baseball fix.

As much as I'm sure Markus & Co. appreciate the gesture, I'm guessing that the earlybird discount is offered for a reason: to help the company's cash flow during its off-season. As they say, "Early money is like yeast because it helps raise the dough." In the case of a game developer, early money allows them to spend more on promotions during their main sales period which ultimately results in more copies being sold.

In any event, it's a great gesture of appreciation for a company that puts an enormous amount of energy into creating a fantastic product year after year.

I too would like to thank everyone at Out of the Park Developments GmbH & Co. KG for their hard work and creativity.

heh, you do that, then you put me to shame. I guess I would have to buy it for my bro as an early birthday gift.

Good point. But Markus seems like a good business man, and I am sure he has money purposely saved up from the profits of the previous version just for advertising specifically. Luckily, internet advertising is the cheapest form of advertising there is.

(Would be REALLY cool to see an OOTP 13 Super Bowl add for next year's SB though! $3 million for a 30 second spot! )

Well I'm not deciding until I see a full feature list. The price is not a problem, I would pay more for the features I want.

So what feature would make you pay more than $29.99?

League associations or the ability to have more then 2 sub leagues would be nice. The playoffs need to be customizable. The ability to print stats from the game without the mess it uses now. And I would like to see an encyclopedia that mirrors the Baseball for windows add on. I would even pay double to get the encyclopedia added but its not much of a priority to most users.

The price of BfW is 74.95. The price for OOTP is 29.99. I am not familiar with BfW, but the current encyclopedia that you can export from OOTP isn't too bad.

i'd like to see multiple position players. more specifically pitcher/fielder players. many good players in HS/college play both positions. without this feature, guys like babe ruth and mark mcgwire wouldnt exist in the game.

This apparently has become a "what I like to see in the game" thread.

The problem, is that the Ruths and McGwires of professional baseball are few and far between. So I don't think something like this is that big a deal. And OOTP is first and foremost, a professional baseball simulator, not a college/HS simulator.

You instead should buy two now and give one to someone who's never played the game.........which is what I plan to do. My copy is already bought and the giveaway copy to be bought this weekend.

The only person I know that plays this game, is my twin brother. I already buy him the game for our birthday sometimes, if he hasn't already bought it.

Same here. Not to give Markus any ideas, but I would pay a lot more for OOTP than what he charges!

The almanac generated is not an entire encyclopedia. Especially compared to the BBW version. I would gladly pay 75 bucks for this game if it had one. Game records and the ability to print crap without using the HTML screen or the data dump. I use the data dump but I HATE IT with a passion. I really like OOTP and have supported it since the beginning but V11 is like a really good car you hang on to for one more year cause the current model is almost the exact same.

Whoops, I meant almanac, not encyclopedia. My bad. But totally redoing it is one of my top items on my wishlist.

According to OOTP itself, OOTP MLB play (modern and historical) outnumbers OOTP fictional play three to one.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.
