Why Does AI Insist On Strange Positions for these players in lineups?

Both of these players seem like they're better suited for the positions the AI won't put them at. (Trujillo better at SS, Pedro Martinez (heh heh) at 2B. It doesn't seem that their starting positions effect starters at other positions in the lineup, they just get swapped between 2B and SS.

Attached are images with their ratings. (1-20 scale)

Nobody (I think), except Markus, really understands how the AI optimizes lineups, positions, depth charts. So there's no one can really answer your question. However:

1. If you have scouting turned on, that's the most likely reason. The AI sees these guys differently than your scout does; or

2. The two may look close enough in ability to the AI, so that the positions become a matter of random choice (or the order in which the AI decides positions).
