Unusual Request

Inspired by some of the other Arena Baseball Dynasties, I decided to start my own.

However I don't have any suitable stadium images, so I figured I'd throw this out there to see if anyone felt like taking on my request.

My request is for a baseball field shoehorned onto a hockey rink. With the boards... and arena football (or LA Coliseum) style netting along the outfield fencing (end boards).

Field would be turf.

try the blueturf stadiums along with the domed stadium throughout MLB history. most all r on Padresfan but heres the link to blueturf photobucket.

stadiums pictures by blueturf - Photobucket

In my FSBL league i use the domed stadiums for the NHL & NBA baseball teams.

Thanks for the link... but its not really what I'm looking for. I'm looking for something really more "NHL-ly" with the boards etc.

Essentially in my league the games are played in the arena, meaning the playing field is 85x200 just like the NHL's rinks. To compensate for the short dimensions Arena Football style netting is hung over the boards (in the storyline for the league there are other compensations made but they are irrelevant to the image request).

Home Plate would more or less be at the end boards (almost no foul territory behind home plate), even a little square cut out (where the NHL Goal Judge's would be placed) would be fine as a location for the catcher, allowing for home plate to really be almost at the end boards.

I thought I'd give this a shot... Here's what I have so far.. I'm not exactly thrilled with it right now, but it's a start. I had thought about an Arena Baseball League before and even Dr. P.R. Park III had started a dynasty report that looked into the subject.

With this picture.. I originally took the hockey rink image and overlayed a basball field where the ice was but I couldn't get it to look right. So I created the field by hand and well... still couldn't get it to look right as you see.. I then went ahead and tried creating the netting by hand.. and the glass behind home plate... Needs a lot of work, that's for sure.. I probably will scrap all of this and try to find better pictures to work with first..

davwms, Here's a screenshot from EA's NHL09. I don't know if it's usable. Unfortunately I can't zoom out any more. I used Fraps to save the image. Had to convert it to JPG and reduce the size so I could post it. The yellow circle is the camera marker. This is a Red Wings/Penguins game. Maybe someone with a console and 2K Sports NHL can take a better screenie. Modders post screen shots of their updated arenas at http://www.thebreakaway.net/. Maybe something is useful.

Looks pretty good. If you need any more screenies, let me know. Other arenas have different advertising plus the crowd colors change based on team colors. I just hope the players don't slide headfirst in to first base.

That looks surprisingly cool. Also looks like it would be a fun sport to play.

My goodness, is there anything we can ask of davwms that he can't deliver?! I'm going to start looking through my wishlists.

Or a multi-level Chicago Cloverleaf open-air stadium?
