Talking Welcome to the OOTP 12 forum!

Alright, Spring is approaching, and so is the new version of OOTP 12.

The game is currently in develop and should enter beta testing in about a month if all goes well. We are anticipating a release in April, but this is subject to change, as we're a very small team and stuff like illness may delay the release of course. However, we'll do the best we can to bring you the best OOTP ever as soon as possible

This year we'll focus on financials, online leagues, immersion and AI improvement. You can find a preliminary feature list in our latest newsletter here: OOTP Developments Newsletter - OOTP 12: Reserve Your Roster Spot Now For Just $29.99!

The list is not complete yet, however. In the past, we've always been able to add more useful & fun features during beta testing. One example would be a save game in progress function, which should be useful for iOOTP (in development) as well.

Okay, I'll get back to work now! Any questions, just post in this new forums, I'll try to answer them ASAP

Cheers,
Markus

The city/world database will come in XML format, so you'll be able to edit it anytime using a simple text editor.

The stadium builder will be introduced alongside the 2D/3D engine in OOTP 13.

2D/3D engine? So can I just go ahead a preorder OOTP13, too?

I and a lot of other people have been pushing to be able to save the game in the middle of pbp. There are a lot of people asking for this feature. I asked a year ago and you answered. Markus, you said it would be difficult to just add that in a patch. Fine. But now?

The reserve clause was in effect for more than half the history of baseball. It was much simpler than the current financial system. There are many many players who only play historicals either real or fictional. How about a realistic reserve clause financial system? Now, we simply turn financials off entirely.

Enhanced the world database structure

I assume the "enhanced the world database structure" will only apply to new games, and not existing ones?

Love this enhancement, but I don't look forward to choosing between keeping my existing game going, or blowing it up to take advantage of the new feature.

I'm pre-ordering either way; just askin'.

Heh. The real question is what on earth does that statement mean. It sounds great, but there's no detail on what has been enhanced.

I should take a screen shot of the thread list in this forum now. I bet it's practically the same thread titles year after year at this stage!

I just fell off my chair!!!

By the way, are all the logos/uniform graphic requirements change for OOTP12 or can I use the time until release create a firestorm of graphics??

Are stickied screens in v12?

If I sort one way on a screen, it should stay the way I sorted it once I return to it.
