Possibly Ready for Major League Level
What does it mean in your minor league report screen when it opines next to the player "Possibly Ready for Major League Level"?
Bonus Question: What's the point to starting inferior players "every fifth game" or "every seventh game" in lineup/depth chart settings instead of using "when starter tired?" Last edited by FoosballWizard; 01-13-2011 at 04:37 AM. |

It means that he is ready to get a chance at MLB.....i dont put much stock into that report, i bring guys up if their stats r at a certain level. give them a chance in sept or to start a season if they fail then they get their cup of coffee and then they move on to someone else.
The way i use my backups is i dont want everyone getting tired at the same time so for a vs RHP lineup i set my backup C to start every 5th game since i see far for RHP then LHP. Backup 1B i leave at if starter is tired. 2B i have start every 10th game, because he is a decent 2B guy but cant play any other postion.. oh hell maybe this is answered someone who knows for sure....but to me it just adds a little bit more real of reality to a fictional world. |

I go by stats as well and mostly ignore the recommendation on the minor league report, though I know some people like to use them. Possibly ready for MLB simply means your scout thinks that player could do well at the MLB level but isn't sure. These are the guys you might want to call up in September to see how they perform, or maybe for a couple weeks mid-season (if you aren't worried about service time) to sub for an injury.
Another reason to slate players more often than "when starter is tried" is morale. Players like to play, and I think this keeps your bench and role players a bit happier. |

Thanks for the answers, folks! I've been getting a crash course in baseball which I haven't paid a lot of attention to since I was about 13 years old, and these forums have been a huge help!
