webhost and statslab

Was wondering if anyone knows if 000webhost is set up to run statslab?

I am not sure what is needed to load this, so any help is greatly accepted

What you'll need is cPanel with mySQL databases which many webhosts have. I'll see if I can dig up the video I made on installing it...

thanks for the video,

i spent all day attempting to load this today , but have had no luck .... this is my first attempt with these type of programs. If anyone knows if it will work with them it would be awsome to know.. i am pulling whats left of my hair out.. lol

If you'd like, I can give you a dummy site for a couple of days on my allsimbaseball.com server (no charge) to try it again. You will find everything exactly as shown in the video because that vid was done on one of my servers which has a fully equipped cPanel.

Let me know if you want to give it a go.

By the way, I checked on 000webhost and it says that the free account does not have cPanel. You have to order their premium hosting plan to get that.

Also, 000webhost puts 50,000 file count limit on free accounts and on their premium accounts as well. You might want to think about a smaller universe/league because the league reports generated by the game can be pretty massive in number...especially when history is included. 30 teams and 3 levels of minors might be the max you could go.

I'm going to back Fidel up on this, maybe be even a bit more blunt.

you will quickly outgrow any free service, it is the business model of those site for you to get up and running then a few months down the road figure out that you either don't need them, or need more service. and since you are already a customer you are more likely to stay there. It is a perfectly acceptable business plan, just be aware that thats what it is.

watch the file count limits on any host. my host used to have a 100k limit, but a customer uprising took place when the went to enforce it so they raised it to 200k. and they will work with you if you can "justify" the need for a higher count.

i started with a small league leaching space off of a friends home server back when version 6 came. out to now hosting 2 leagues, 5 or 6 other websites. 40-50 gigs of spaces & i use a couple hundred gigs of bandwidth a month. (almost hit a terabyte twice) and moving hosts is a pain... so think 3-4 steps ahead

ya i understand all that.. I am currently using 8 teams with only 2 levels of minors....
