Expansion question

Just downloaded OOTP11 and I have a question regarding expansion teams. Let's say would like to start off as the GM of a new expansion team rather than take a job with an existing ML team.

What would be the best way to set this up? Is it possible to do from the beginning or would you need to sim through a full season and then expand?

Thanks for any input/advice on the subject!!

i just created a ML and as sson as i did it went right to expand league and it let me. the expansion draft came up.

My way is:
1) create needed seasn
2)start unemployed
3)don't do anything
4)uncheck Automatically expand league
5)select Expand League in Functions
6)you can expand only by even number of teams
7)after accepting expansion select Comissioner mode
8)manually employ yourself to one of new teams
Draft will be tomorrow, and you have four month to prepare your team.
Warning: Do not recheck Automatically expand league. If you do, the next season your team will be kicked out of league. It was how I abandoned mmy 1963 MLB. And I had a super prospect (half a star now, ***** (five stars) in the future).
