Historical after there is no real life stats.

If I have a player that is 22 and only has real life stats for the next 2 years. What happens in year 3 or 4. With recal each year turned on. Does the guy retire or continue as a fictional type player.

It depends on whether or not you have retire according to history checked or not. If you do, he will retire. If not, then I don't really know what happens.

If you have retire accoding to history he should retire, if not the sim will use the player development model. If that is turned off, I suspect he will just age accordingly. (e.g. slowly deteriorate).

If you have retire according to history off then the player development model will take over. In other words he will continue to improve (likely) until he hits his prime and then slowly degrade.

OOTP treats all players as fictional (all "historical players" are are fictional players based on real players) unless recalculation based on real stats is enabled. When it goes to recalculate and sees that there are no longer stats for the player for the next year it will...

A) If retire according to history is turned on : Retire player
B) IF ROTH is turned off : treat him like a fictional player

At this point after 2009 all your players will be fictional as there are no 2010 stats to recalculate for.
