FTP Issues
The FBL recently converted to OOTP11 with the 11.2.15 patch. I've sent out the gm accounts dat, league files, etc. and everyone is having problems exporting. They are getting the in-game 202 error (upload error)... the weird thing is, I am not having problems exporting at all. I've tested exporting my roster and uploading the league file... no problems. I may be the only one on a Mac, however...
Anyway, if you had these problems with your league, how did you fix? I've tried like 50 different settings (including different directory setups on the server)... no luck at all. There are remanants of the export attempt on the server, however... 0 byte team_##.ootp files. Here's a sample FTP trace, if that helps: FTP_CLIENT object created FTP_CLIENT callback rate set to 300 ms Set connect-, read- and idle-timeout to 30000 ms Set connect-, read- and idle-timeout to 30000 ms FTP_CLIENT::open - host set to ftp.federal-league.com FTP_CLIENT::open - user set to exports@federal-league.com FTP_CLIENT::open - password set FTP_CLIENT::open - port set to 21 set to active mode Successfully opened connection to host ftp.federal-league.com Successfully changed directory to / put - file size is 56920 byte Successfully started sending file team_76.ootp ChilkatLog: AsyncPutFile: DllDate: Feb 17 2010 Username: JMG Component: Visual C++ 9.0 localFileSize: 56920 restartNext: 0 ModeZ: 0 BinaryMode: 1 Active transfer mode Using ephemeral port range for Active data connection. dataPort: 49638 MyIP: 192,168,1,2,193,230 SetupDataSocketTimeMS: 16 SetupActiveDataSocket: Elapsed time: 16 millisec command: STOR PutFilename: [team_76.ootp] Begin waiting to accept Active data connection... Try sending them the whole "settings" folder that is inside the league's directory. As long as they have that for the initial file download, they should be ok for subsequent files after your sims.

Thanks Fidel. I'll give that a shot.
I sent a couple of the settings file over, but never the whole thing. Worth trying at least, for sure.

No luck Fidel.
I may try re-importing the OOTP10 league to see if that fixes the problem. This is beyond frustrating.

No luck with any of this...
My host thinks it has to do with the owner FTP setting to active rather than passive, but the owner's in-game settings/config say otherwise. (everything matches my game set-up) Any other ideas? Is it possible to re-create the league in OOTP11, using all historical data and ratings without using the in-game conversion from OOTP10? Be interested in testing that to see if it has anything to do with the conversion process.

I am having the same problems....ive even tried to upload a new file for everyone....it takes like 15 seconds to do which normally takes 15 mins. Then it shows the file on the server with a file size of zero.

OK. We figured it out.
Owners had to go to OOTP > Game Setup > Online League Options And set the FTP to explicitly Passive, rather than Default. Thanks for the tip, Bluenoser. Unfortunately, I didn't seem to have that in-game option in Commish mode, so I had no idea it existed! (other than editing the app.cfg, which I knew about... but I also thought the 1 flag for FTP mode was Passive.) Anywho... we're back in business!

Same here. The game inexplicitly did the old "Can't download"/"-202 cannot upload" crap. Set the game to Passive.
I can download. I CAN'T UPLOAD. Still getting -202. Last edited by Jonah Falcon; 09-14-2010 at 05:57 PM. |

The f'ing bug adapted itself. Question to OOTP Developments: WHY IS IT SO F'ING HARD TO FTP!?!?!?!?! THIS IS NOT DIFFICULT PROGRAMMING. |

Jonah, did you recently move your league to OOTP 11 from 10?
