Need Help importing My Fictional League

Hi All,

I need help importing my Fictional DMB Baseball Universe into OOTP. I have created Lahman type files that contain my players stats from the 2010 season and have tried to load this info into the game in 2 ways.
Way1: When I try to create a new game and point the database to My data instead of the standard Master.csv file I get an error (Failure to load or something like that).

Way2: On a whim, I tried creating a fictional league with OOTP's fictional players. I then deleted all players and attempted to load in My database using "Import CATO History". This had limited success. My player names are correct and their previous years (2010) stats were correct but all of their rating were extremely low (even a player that hit .370 in my 2010 season). Also, for some reason all pitchers were listed as having no position.

My league dates back to 1970 (the real 1970) and I would love to import my entire league history into OOTP at some point even though I know it would be a laborious job. For now, I would be happy just being able to import my present rosters and have ratings created based on their previous 3 years performance.

Any help would be completely appreciated!

Forgot to mention

I forgot to mention that when I "CATO" my database, all the players end up on the retired list

apparently

that database added a column to it in such a way that makes it not importable. I remember a thread in the OOTP8 section about it...

Yeah, I had already stumbled upon that. The Lahman DB added a column called G_batter (Games as batter) that OOTP apparently doesn't like. I had already figured that out when all of the players previous season stats seemed to be shifted one column over.

Thanks for the reply! I'll figure this out if it kills me!

I think you're way ahead of me then... supposedly one could delete that column but I don't have a database program that would do it (some kind of line limit on Excel and OpenOffice prevents that easy step).

IIRC that problem showed up as making stats come up ludicrously high, like players would have the same numbers of ABs and Hs. Yours seems more buggy than that problem. Good luck and as I say do send the file to tech support as it might be something weird.
