Question about historical FaceGen

I've got a quick question for you Historical Facegen folks (this thing is AWESOME by the way - can't wait to start using it!).

Do I need to have "Create Player Pictures" in the Player & Picture Options in Game Setup set to "Upon Player Creation" in order for OOTP to use available Facegen files in the fg_files directory when importing a year's rookie class? Right now I have Facegen's "Picture Search Mode" in OOTP Preferences set to "Search for FG file first" and "Create Player Picture" set to "On Demand", but it doesn't seem to be working - all my debut rookies are ending up with historical photos even if they have FG files available.

The only one that did get a FG face was Cal Ripken, and I have a feeling that was because his historical photo was named incorrectly (cal_ripken jr.), so OOTP would have created a fictional photo when I viewed him for the first time using his fg_file. Other players who debuted in 1981 and 1982 like Jesse Barfield, Don Mattingly, and Wade Boggs - they all ended up with historical photos instead.

Just hoping someone could confirm that this setting might be causing my problems, and that changing it to "Upon Player Creation" will probably fix it for when I import the 1983 rookie class.

Check in the game preference. You will find an option under the FaceGen tab there an option to check for photo or fg files first.

Thanks for the response AESP_pres, but I already have that set to search for fg files first and I still ended up with the historical photos when pre-season starts and a rookie class gets imported.

Perhaps I'll create a test league and do a sim to pre-season with the "Create Player Pictures" setting set to "On Demand" for one year and then "Upon Player Creation" for the following year - see if I can't confirm my suspicion. I was just hoping that someone who works closely with the Facegen side of OOTP might already know for certain and be able to confirm it for me without having to do the extra work. :-)
