Strasburg Debuts
Predictions for tonight?
5 IP 3 ER 7 K 2 BB Not bad, he'll get the win. Regardless, either way, he'll get a ton of media attention for either a "Solid Debut" or "No no-hitter for Strasburg? He's a bust!" likely more towards the latter if my predicted line is the outcome. There. I've channeled my inner spammer and inner hater. Predict away: |

Nationals vs Pirates. So, basically still AAA with a bigger stadium.
6 IP, 1 ER, 5 H, 2 BB, 5 K

I predict that he will bomb in his first start. Something like 4 IP, 5 RUNS, 3 BB and 3 K. His second start will be better but I think he gets rocked a bit in his first start.

I think he'll run up his pitch count early, going to a lot of 3-2 counts. So something like this:
5 IP, 1 ER, 3 H, 4 BB, 4 K |

I predict that he'll throw a perfect game, broker peace in the Middle East, save 243 orphans from a fire, and walk across the Potomac.

And Uni Watch will complain about the Nationals' uniforms again. Maybe I should submit some MVP 2005 mods to the Nats' front office.

It's only the Pirates, so it's just another AAA start for him.

He'll get the first 26 batters out, before being part of a botched call at 1B. He'll get the next batter out. Deja vu!!!
Seriously, if this happened, there would no doubt be a firestorm. Selig would be under immense pressure to overturn the ump's ruling and in turn would have to overturn the one from last week too. OK ... I think we will have a nice debut, pitch 5-6 innings, allow 2-3 runs, strike out at least one per inning. Good enough not to be sent back down to the minors. |

A good thing is happening for a team that needs and deserves a good thing to happen to it.

I also want to point out that Washington also drafted Bryce Harper who should get getting as much notoriety and excitment as Strasburg

Yeah, Harper looks like he has serious talent. A shame about him also being a serious douche.

As for Strasburg, I'm with the group that says he runs up the pitch count early. I bet he doesn't get past 5 innings. |

6 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 7 K, 105 pitches, ND as the Nats bullpen and defense screw it up. Again.

Was looking forward to seeing him pitch tonight but because they're playing Pittsburgh the game is blacked out on extra innings and the mlb network
![]() Prediction 6.2 innings. 7 hits, 9 k's 4 BB's, 4 earned. |

Does anyone else think Strasburg (I have heard a lot of comparisons to Mark Prior) looks eerily similar to.....
Justin Verlander? In terms of stuff and delivery? |
