davep stickware schedule editor
From the search I conducted- it seems as if this is the program most people use. However, as I am computer illiterate- how/where do I launch this once I download it (currently have it saved as a zip file on a disk) and how do I use it.
Thanks in advance Tony |

Unzip it and you should find a README file with some instructions on how to use it.
It is a stand alone program you'll double click the icon to launch it. If you want to create a schedule.dat file for OOTP directly you'll need to check the appropriate option box and then find your sched.dat file. Then set your games settings and seed and click Generate Schedule. That's the basics.. eventually you can do a lot of things with an .ini file to really control the start times of the games. Hope this helps a little. If you have further questions let us know. |

How can you change the start times for games? I'm pretty interested in this. Thanks!

I remember that stickware had spots for time zones for the teams, but I was more interested in getting the interleague play to work than to get those set up correctly.

There is an .ini file in the Stickware folder.
It is set up with the Team ID their "time zone" the typical local start times for week day and weekend games (day and night) and the percentage of day games for both weekends and weeknights. But messing with this you can have teams in Time Zone's other than the ones present in the US (i.e. Atlantic for those in the Canadian Maritimes, or others for World Wide Leagues) and tweak the number of night and day games to make say Texas play mostly home night games even on the weekends.. If you do a search on davep's scheduler you'll find some info... I can't give anymore until I get home and double check just what lines go in which spot, but when I do I'll post an example. |

It's been a while since I checked this out, but are all the kinks worked out? I remember a while ago it had problems with creating 161 or 163 games for some teams...has this been corrected and is it reliable enough to use in an online league?

Yeah its a great utility. I also have never ran into a real problem with uneven games among teams. I used it for pro, college and fictional leagues and it works like a charm.

Hey. The odd number of games issue didn't have anything to do with my program. It had something to do with the game locking up on someone and not everything was saved.
Anway, you can set the time zones and start times for each team by changing the "schedule.ini" file. (ie. the Cubs play more day games) look in the ini file for instructions: from the .ini file Quote:
