Question 1887 Draft pool is broken

Hi,

I play a historical league from 1871. I have completed the draft of 1887 and I noticed that many players have power ratings of 20 (on a 1-20 scale). I looked at the real life stats of these players and found out that the HR column is wrong (eg. 97 HR are recorded for Jim Burns )

I opened that "edit" option for the players and found that ratings are based on the inaccurate date. As a result, Jim Burns's power is set at 250 (on a 1-250 scale).

Is this something other players have noticed?

I really like this game and i would like to know how to fix this issue. Also, is it something that happens in other years? I can edit the players for the 1887 draft, but I hope that I won't have to do the same for other years.

thanks

Are you using the standard database or one you downloaded separately? If it is a separate one, maybe it was made for OOTP 10. I think there is a change in the format between 10 and 11. If you are using the standard one then I have no idea.

i am using OOTP11 database (although I started the league with OOTPX). It is the 3rd draft since I transferred the league and never seen the problem before.

Have you maybe accidentally unticked the box "Automatically Import Historical Player-Creation Modifiers" under "Strategy" in League Setup?

I left that unchecked once for one of my independent minor leagues and suddenly my 1900s leagues got swamped by juiced up present day supermen.

the box "Automatically Import Historical Player-Creation Modifiers" under "Strategy" is checked.

I started a 1888 league and historical stats of the players drafted in 1887 (in my historical league) are accurate. I don't have a clue what happened with the data base and whether this will have an impact. How can I verify if the database is correct for the 1888 draft?

btw, thanks for the quick responses

i was importing players based on OOTP 10 database. the number of AB seems to be missing - which resulted in having players with insane number of HRs in the real live stats (and thus with insane power ratings). I will fix the numbers manually for the latest draft (unless there is an easier way to fix the issue) and continue with the OOTP 11 database. I should have paid attention on the source of the database as I assume that OOTP 11 database is more accurate...

i cross my fingers that it will work
