Player Suspensions
Another thing, is there any way to reduce the number of times there are bench-clearing brawls and players be suspended?

I would like to know that too. I get between 3 and 6 a week. I would think 3 a year in all of MLB would be about it. Although I like a good hockey fight this isn't hockey.

Yeah, I have noticed this as well. Way too many fights and general suspensions. Don't know how many guys I have seen suspended for arguing calls. Some of the suspensions are really long ones too. I don't remember anyone getting suspended nine games for fighting. And on the flip side, when players are suspended for PEDs it's much shorter than in reality.

Yes, I probably get at the very least 20 a season. That is a bit excessive. There should only be 3 or 4 at the absolute most a season. I was looking for an option to tone this down the other night, but I don't think it exists

The best way to persuade Markus to make a change here is to present him with data. I've asked on the beta forum for someone to research real life MLB suspensions for in-game conduct from the past couple of years, but there's always a million things to do on beta, so that hasn't happened. If anyone had concrete data about the number and length of suspensions in MLB from two or three recent seasons, we should be able to persuade Markus to make some adjustments.

As far as players being suspended for PED's I had a post on here about a week ago. I had a player suspended for 10 games....I wanted it to be more like today's level(50 games) and was told I can change it in commish mode at the player edit page.....so that's what I do now.

I originally posted the question and I figured out what to do in the meantime until OOTP can fix something. In the Global Setup, I turn off the ability for suspensions for the majority of the season. Every once in a while, I turn it back on and within a day or two there's usually a suspension. Then I turn it back off.

It's now 50 games in real life for a first steroids suspension. It used to be 10 games, which is what OOTP is modeling. I'd rather see long suspensions as well for PEDs, but since the game does not (yet) model the suspended list, it's problematic for the game to levy 50-game suspensions - you'd have to play a man short for a third of the season. That's not how things work in real life - suspensions let you free up a roster spot.

Keep in mind that whether or not a player is injured/suspended is totally separate from the description that is given. A player injury/suspension is totally random and once it is triggered then the AI creates a description for it. The injury/suspension is completely unrelated to the description that you see.
