That's how they do it in the 209.

Congrats to the A's. My fav greatest A's performance is when they used about 10 pitchers to no hit my Angels at the end of a season about 25 years ago.

Yeah, that's the guy.

I just read where Braden lost his mother in high school to cancer. Doing this on Mother's Day has to make it even more special. Congrats to him.

I don't know anything about Twitter, but here's something from Susan Slusser who covers the A's for the SF Chronicle:

Dallas Braden's grandmother is here and speaking to the press. She says, and I'm not joking, "Stick it, A-Rod." #Athletics

Today is the best day of my A's fandom since 10/6/06. I was so nervous watching the game. Part of me knew he was going to do it because of how perfect the story would be (Mother's Day at home with his grandma there plus the A-Rod stuff), but part of me though there was no way because it just rarely happens.

First A's perfect game in my lifetime! Woooo!

He's not the one bringing up A-Rod. It's the media.

And the fans will always bring it up for him, because ARod is just such a "lovable" guy.

This is pretty ironic. I would say Braden has earned his "15 minutes of fame" that A-Rod did not want to extend, and a whole lot more!

[Edit: I'm still smiling about this. I mean, does A-Rod get into some strange, awkward situations or what? He disses and dismisses this guy as a marginal player, and the guy proceeds to pitch a perfect game. My gosh. ]

The whole A-Rod thing makes this perfect game that much more special.

I used to think that it'd be really awesome to watch a perfect game live (even on tv). Now I've seen two, and to be honest I'm fed up with them!

Still, talk about a feel good story.
