Giant vs Jets Super Bowl ?
Can this scenario be even remotely possible ?
Two of the hottest teams in the league right now, and now is the time of the year to be hot. Normally, I despise the Jets, although not as much as the NY Rangers or the NY Yankees. But just the mere possibility of that scenario coming about brings a smile to my face. Crap, anything's possible in the NFL now, right ?

Giants?? First of all, the Giants are the worst team in the playoffs.
And the road to the Superbowl in the AFC goes through Oakland, baby! No way the Jets beat the Raiders in Oak-town. I'll remind you that the Raiders beat your "hottest team in the league right now" four weeks ago.

Beg to differ. The Giants are on a roll, and there isn't a single scary team in the NFC playoffs, save possibly them right now. Every team in the NFC has a glaring weakness.
PHI: QB TB: RB ATL: experience at QB SF: brain damaged play callers GB: WR, disappearing RB NYG: they stank most of the year The only team that I don't think can make it out of that group is Atlanta...and even that I don't feel confident in. Chalk up another Super Bowl victory for the AFC this year. |

NO way the Giants OR the Jets make the big show.......
AFC: Raiders vs. Titans NFC: Eagles vs. Packers SB: Tough to call the AFC, but I'll go with the Titans in a close one over the Raiders. Pack over Eagles in NFC Winner: Packers over Titans in a close SB, but if the Raiders somehow win the AFC, they'll beat the Pack or anyone else that the NFC offers. |

I think anything is a possibility. Everyone seems to forget that the Giants were in the Superbowl in 2000. It isnt like they havent been there recently. Remember the ass kicking they gave the Vikings in the NFC Championship Game? The Jets are the hottest team in the AFC (except for maybe the Titans). I am not saying that it will happen, because there is no way to know, but anything is possible.

I'm sticking with the Eagles in the NFC, but now that my AFC pick is out (Patriots) I'll have to go with the Raiders.
A team nobody is really talking about is the Steelers, keep an eye out for them. |

I think Indy's the weakest team in the playoffs, not the Giants.
Also, I think the Jets might have that team ingredient that takes them to the superbowl. They're hungry. I don't think the raiders have what it takes to go all the way. Call it a hunch. However, watch out for those steelers...ah, maybe...maybe not. |

If you want to talk regional matchups, I'd imagine that there's a better chance of an Eagles/Steelers bowl than a Giants/Jets bowl.
I give a Giants/Jets superbowl about the same odds as a Steelers/Browns superbowl. In other words, it's not possible. Jason

Sheesh I certainly hope the Jets don't make the playoffs, if they do I will be forced to listen to the constant praise of Chad Pennington (3 of my 4 broadcast channels orginate from Hunington, WV/Marshall) so whenever Marshall does the least little thing that constantly go on about it. Marshall winning a pretty much meaningless bowl was talked about for about a week after it happened.
But I am curious as to how the Jets are considered a "hot" team and none of the other AFC teams are? All I have heard about all day is how they are on a streak right now and a team to watch. In the last 5 games they have the same record as the Colts and Browns (3-2) whereas Oakland and Pittsburgh only have 1 loss in the same span and Tennessee is undefeated for the last 5 weeks. To me it seems like if you were merely going on a teams' streak then the favorite(s) would be Tennesee or Pittsburgh/Oakland. |

Sixto, don't forget the multiple years that the Flyers have had injuries to guys on the #1 line and plugged them back into the lineup in the middle of a good playoff run, essentially causing their seasons to end 4 games later.
