Help with Pinch Hitters

Is there a way to use a pinch-hitter AFTER the computer makes a pitching change? I can't stand how the computer can make a pitching change before I have a chance yo sub in for a pinch hitter. Big flaw in the game. Unless, of course I'm missing something, which is entirely possible.

You can use a PH at any time your team is at bat if you have control of that function.

I'm not sure what the problem is.

Thanks for your response.

Maybe I didn't explain what's happening correctly. When I'm up to bat, after I hit continue, let's say the computer decides to make a pitching change. Rather than allow me to bring in a pinch hitter if I don't like the new matchup, the game continues on with the play, forcing me to leave the scheduled batter to face the new pitcher. I am controlling substitutions, and this still happens. Am I missing something?

Also, is there a way to delete the last play?

Any help?

Bear with me; when you say you hit continue that makes me think that you are watching the game and not playing it. Have you actually made substitutions at other times in the game?

There is no "continue" button when playing. See the third screenshot below for the choices with men on base. When you play the game, the AI would make the the pitching change and stop and wait for your next move.
