Dual Core

Does OOTP take advantage of dual core??

I dont know for sure but I dont believe it does. Meaning, I don't think its coded to take advantage of more than one core. But.. I'm not really sure how much of a boost we'd get even if it did. OOTP will probably be pushed to its limits by most modern CPU's with multi core cpus, even if it's only utilizing the one core. especially since the read/write times when working to the hard drives (something ootp does a lot) is probably the biggest limiter to speed.

edm's likely right. I think OOTP is far more file I/O bound than CPU.

Granted, I'd love for it to take advantage of all 8 cores on my Intel i7 proc.
