1982 Historical Quickstart

1982 Historical Quickstart 1.0

I have created a 1982 historical universe, with full minors, built off of Spritze and Murmur's databases. And since 1982 was the inaugural season for the KBO, the KBO is also included, however there is not a readily available database for it. I created a quick start, but have also included both databases along with some other files, so you could route the rookie draft classes without having to hunt down and download the databases. All instructions on how to install and play are included in a readme. There are a lot credits:

Spritze (DB), Murmur (*** DB), Comedian2004 (MLB logos), fhomess and Gambo (MLB jerseys/caps), Razorback (I used his template to make the logos), No Pepper (*** jerseys/caps, these are previously unreleased), davwms (KBO jerseys/caps, these are also previously unreleased) and Lukasberger for his *** photo back (which is included). I did all other logos. If I forgot anything or anyone, I apologize.

Lukasberger, forgot to originally credit you, but I included a *** photo back you sent me...so I updated the credits list.

In Photoshop, I just convert the text layer to a shape and then use the pen tool to draw in the swoosh/tail thingy... There is another free font listed on a site under a heading that is something like "old school" I think.. but it is meant to look like a faded t-shirt or something like that and has pieces taken out of the lettering.. I will see if I can find it..

. If I get some time I may be able to create a few more photos for people who are playing in 82 and weren't in my photo pack. No promises but we'll see.

Was really hoping to see this one, as 1982 was, as a child, the first season I can remember following fairly close, or at least the end of the season and Play-offs. I do know I watched all the WS games, and at age 11 from my nonsports loving family, this was deemed as very strange.

I think I'll give this a try. My 82 White Sox were not that bad in 82 (only 6 games out) and it would be fun watching my Cardinals and getting the WSox ready for the big 1983 year.

Plus it will help me review OOTP stuff while waiting for v12.

I was looking forward to this one but evidently it was created in v10. I can't get it to install on v11 and took v10 off long ago.

Guess I'll have to look for the file and reinstall if I can find the extra time.
