Poor draft classes

I'm in 2042 in my franchise, and within the past few seasons, the draft classes have been absurdly bad. This class alone has one player above a 70 potential, and he's a MR.

Anyone experience this/know what to do? Thanks.

Hi Bacong.

A couple questions to see what might be happening for you:

(Dumb question first) Are you playing with scouts enabled?
If #1 is yes, what are your scouting directors stats? Specifically, what is his prospects rating and what is his preference (Ability, Neutral or tools).
Also yes to #1, is this scouting director fairly new? Did you have a pretty consistent one for a while and have him retire or get fired and hire someone new. If this is a recent change, what were the stats for the previous SD?
If no to #1, can you post a screen shot of your player creation modifiers?

1. Yes.
2. My scout has 100 in each category. Neutral.
3. I've had him for a few years, now. I had the same scout for about 20 years.

Hmm, a consistent scout with neutral ratings shouldn't cause a sudden talent drop.

When you look at the players true numbers in the player editor, are they consistent with the scouts ratings or are you seeing a wide variance at all?

Have you tried scouting the talent pool with another scout who might have a preference towards tools to see if the ratings get better?

I did notice a slight dip in my 100 year solo league between 2002-2005, but it has since improved. I also tend to cheat a bit and scout with 2-3 different teams scouts to get a better idea of the pool when it starts to look absurdly thin.
