yeah im conflicted on this one. of course he's a pass-first o.c....
but it's real hard to forsee what'll happen given the roster as-is. cutler, imo, has at least as much talent as that qb up in green bay whom shall not be named...and said qb was on his behind & getting roughed up but put up crazygood numbers. I'm thinking the offense depends more on cutler not folding under pressure -thusly becoming more like a.r. (due to a lack of o-line) than retooling the o-line in the current mess of free agency and lack of draft pick crap they got themselves into.

As a Rams fan, I thoroughly enjoyed the Greatest Show on Turf.
We had Isaac Bruce, Marshall Faulk, Torry Holt, and Kurt Warner, all in their prime. Also, we had some excellent tight ends, and a future left tackle Hall of Famer, in Orlando Pace. You can't recreate the Rams, with Cutler and the Bears. What you can do, is to open up the offense, and score more points. This is a good thing, as long as you can stand Martz's ego, which can easily fill Soldier Field. |

Jon Kitna threw for 4,000 yards... TWICE! Chicago is in good hands as long as someone can beat Martz's overinflated sense of importance into submission every once in a while.
I wanted him in Houston under Kubiac next season but they went with a Denver guy instead.

Cutler has the arm to make the throws needed for this offense but it sure is scary for Bears fans IMO having him throw as much as he will with Martz running the show.

I'm OK with taking the chance on him, but I'm concerned about a pass-happy offense operating in a city known for gusts.

as a bears fan i was extremely pissed when cutler was traded here and this doesnt make me happy either. He is the biggest gambler in the league and when you pair him up with one of the biggest risk-takers for an O.C that is a recipe for absolute disaster. Dare i say 30 INTs in 2010?

That and the fact that the Bears defense basically sucks now so more throwing=more possessions=more points
