Free agent signing AI: some issues to address
Here is a listing of some free agent bidding/signing issues which should get addressed:
1. Typically when free agency begins, several teams controlled by the AI will bid on the same player and will all offer the same exact contract terms. The AI in this case should have the player inform the teams that there are mutiple teams willing to offer the same contract value and demand one of the teams to increase their offer. This doesn't happen - instead, the player just signs with one of the teams. If this happened in real life, the agent should get fired. 2. Sometimes, a player will state they feel their market value is a Y year contract for $X/year. Even after an AI team offers more than those terms (let's say ($X+$1,000,000)/year), the player still indicates that they feel they are worth $X/year. So of course that is what you offer, only to find out that your offer is not good enough. As soon as an AI team offers ($X+$1,000,000)/year, the player should modify their message. 3. It is quite easy during FA to just sign the best player, and then immediately flip-trade him to another team, getting a spect in return. This should never happen. If a team is willing to pay $X for the player + a spect, they should have then outbid me during free agency. This is an easy technique to steal spects from other teams for basically free each offseason.

I agree
What youre saying is true. As it stands its much too easy to sign any free agent you want. Even if you dont want to sign him, you can just match the AIs offer and trade him to another team. That really should not happen.
