Ardolis Chapman

Who do you think is he going to? Well I heard it is only FLA and BOS for offers right now, but rumors have also leaked that TB, CHC, CHWS, and NYY are going to make offers. I think he is beast as chisox.

The thought is that he's going to start at AA wherever he goes. I think FLA has the best shot. Perhaps they're going to start spending some money with their new park opening in a couple years.

They do have a pretty good shot, but I think he will start inn bullpen on opening day wherever he goes.

Could be, but it would most likely be a PR move. No reports I've seen have him ready for the big leagues.

Know what would be a good matchup, say chap signs with FLA, it would be FLA-WAS, Stras v.s. Chap.

I have a wait and see approach when it comes to the Cubans. He seems like the real deal, though.

Contreras has had a few good years. Not like the hype, though.

I think the hype is what kills it. So much expectation, so much money, waisted. lol

He is very raw with no usable secondary pitch. Really an expensive toy only rich team should gamble on.

If he has no second pitch, then why bother. Sit dead red on his fastball, and kill it.

If you know a fastball is coming, you can hit it. Even I can hit a 90 mph fastball in a batting cage, and I am 53 years old. All a matter if timing, and I can hit it solid, as well.

Indeed. Also in the Cuban National Series his control was notoriously horrible at best (I think he had something like 28 wild pitches in his limited work there). However if some rich team can harness his raw talent (see: 100 MPH Fastball) then he should easily be worth the gamble for them.

He has a lot of pitches other than fastball, just not usable at advanced level yet.

He's also young, so obviously still a lot of time to develop. Such a great and raw talent on the free market is definitely going to be much more expensive than those in the draft. That's why I think he's a rich team's gamble. Maybe the Marlins can justify it if they plan to become a spender in the near future, and maybe he can help attracting the Cuban audiences.

Try hitting a 90+ fastball with good movement. It's just a little bit harder.

I predict that this clown will be the biggest disappointment of the year. By far.

If he had a clue, he would be pitching in the US, already, instead of sitting out the year.

Why? Why not take $15M for nothing instead of exposing yourself?

What are you talking about? Insulting a person like that?

He just defected in July. After that, he was trying to establish a residency somewhere and applying for the free agent status in MLB.

What do you mean by sitting out?

no one expects him to be pitching this year. everyone has said he will be a project. however, he will be a project that already has 1 great pitch and if he can work on his command and improve his other pitches, could be a front end pitcher.

He's probably gonna pitch in AA and then get a September call up to be a mop up pitcher. Maybe ready for MLB a couple of years down the road. There is no hurry for him to pitch right now. He can wait for the spring training.

He's going to get more money than drafted prospects simply because he's on the open market.

According to

Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports is reporting that Cuban LHP Aroldis Chapman has agreed to a $30 million deal and it may be with the Reds.
