If you need some help, I'd be happy to help with the prospects once the BA Handbook is released. I have access to BP too.

Will the game start off in 2010 or 2009? I can help out with the contracts as well - I know the contracts of the Braves especially. But if you need any reference to the contracts, check out Cot's Baseball Contracts.

Still alive -- good progress is being made. First copy will be a bit rough in that I'm not going through and re-doing a ton of minor league ratings.
I'll be leaning on you guys for some serious feedback. ![]() |

Let me start by saying that I haven't played since 6.5(liked the interface better and the OOTP2007 really wasn't fun for me) just recently downloaded the free OOTP8(excited for this start). So with that being said....I am just curious if these rosters or any rosters for OOTP9 or OOTPX are able to be used in OOTP8 and if so, how would I go about installing them? Sorry if this is somewhere else, but this was the first post I saw for newest rosters.

I'm hoping to have the first release out by mid-February, although that could wiggle either way.
I just wrapped up all hitter ratings today, so the only thing left to do is re-rate pitchers (which is a beast of a task with pitches now) and then touch up prospects to fit the top 30 or so. I'm more happy with hitter ratings this year than ever due to some things I learned about ratings last year while we were in beta. I think fielding ratings will be MUCH improved. I leaned on UZR and scouting reports quite a bit, and there's a more wide gap, with some fielders in the 10s and 20s (/100) and some in the 80s/90s or even 100s. In my previous sets I leaned way too much on everyone falling into the median, with poor fielders around a 35-40 at worst. I hope this makes the new age of defensive metrics more important, as guys like Joe Crede, Adrian Beltre, etc. will actually be valuable despite subpar bats. Will keep you guys in the loop. ![]() |

Sorry for the dumb question
What do I get from the roster sets that I don't get from the Lahman database?

2. More precise contracts 3. Most players rerated by hand, from scouting reports 4. Better ratings for prospects based off of real scouting reports Lahman database is good for historical leagues. The one cubby makes is a lot better for playing in the current time. Sorry cubby i'm not trying to speak for you just saving you the time so you can get your rosters out sooner ![]() Last edited by AirmenSmith; 01-30-2010 at 06:41 PM. |
