Game crashes when I check mail.

Whenever I try to read the messages in my inbox either by clicking on the icon in the lower left or by accessing them from my manager screen, the game crashes.

I unistalled and reinstalled the game. Still happens.

Windows Vista Basic.
90.2 GB of free space.
Intel Celeron Processor.

I have had the same problem for months and like you I tried to uninstall and reinstall and it did no good. I reported this issue a long time ago and received no help so hopefully we are luckier in this go around.

It's very frustrating. I love this game. It is so fun to build a team from scratch and manage all of the minor leagues. Unfortunately, I can't get the game to work.

Yep I totally agree, I love the game but am extremely disappointed in the lack of help from the OOTP staff. What I wish I could do is receive a new license in an email and then delete all of the old off my cpu and start from scratch and maybe the problem won't redevelop. But I am afraid to say that this probably wont happen and I have used both my licenses and have received almost zero return on a fifty dollar product.

I noticed your problem is in the unresolved problems thread. You were asked to send in your files. Have you done that?

I wasn't aware that I was supposed to do that, or how to do that actually.

Here's a link to the thread. There's a link for how do send in your files. Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll solve the problem and fix it in the next patch.

Just my personal opinion here, but doesn't it seem that getting a new license and starting over isn't a very productive solution? It would get you back up and running, but it still leaves the true fix for this bug a mystery and now that there are multiple people having the same problem, there's obviously a chance it could happen again.

I do understand your frustration. I haven't owned the game very long and only started playing it a week ago. Just long enough to get hooked and now I can't play it anymore until a solution for this issue is discovered. At least they are working on it. I'm willing to give them a little time to see what they can come up with.

Just stumbling on to this thread. Have you tried deleted your msg.dat file, then starting the game again?
