Compatible on Windows 7?

I'd like to purchase OOTP 10, but am running Windows 7. Does anyone know if OOTP 10 is compatible with Windows 7? Thanks.

I upgraded the machine I run OOTPX on from Vista to 7 last week and have not had any issues running OOTPX.

OOTP X runs fine on Windows 7.

If you can upgrade from Vista to 7, do so, because 7 is light-years better.

OOTP9 works fine on Windows 7.

Haven't tried OOTP10 yet with my new computer. I'm waiting till the final patch is official before converting to it.

Windows 7 is not just better than Vista or XP.
It's actually a good OS.
Very un-Microsoft-like.
It actually makes me stop wishing I was a Mac person.

Has anyone problems running OOTP on Windows 7 AND 64 bit. I downloaded the game, it installed without any error and after finishing the installation the game does simply not start.

Edit: You have to run the game as administrator. But this is the first application where i had to make this adjustment and i have already installed many other programms.

I recently got a new machine with Win7 and was unable to get my saved game to load on it. Same problem when I started up a new game. I unlicensed, uninstalled, reinstalled and relicensed and have only had one crash since then.

You'll run into more, it's pretty common with 64-bit.

Don't ever use 64-bit Windows unless you have to.

Going to have to pretty soon, 4GB of RAM is common. Really, I haven't run into any difficulties other than that.

No problems with OOTPX (or anything else, for that matter).

I have Windows 7 64 bit... so far so good.

I was told by Markus to get 4 gigs of RAM.

I've been playing OOTP on a Win 7 64 bit PC with 4 gigs of RAM. The performance is superb.

I'd like to see new versions of OOTP overcome its current RAM limitations.

Regardless of how well OOTP performs under 64-bit 7, there are 32-bit programs that you may use or even need to use that don't run very well and some that don't run at all.

Bear that in mind when upgrading to 7.

I'm sure you know what you are talking about, MD. I'll keep your advice in mind should I encounter software problems in the future.

Fortunately for me, I mainly use my computer for OOTPB and music... and not much else.

Then you should run 64-bit by all means, Danny. But those with necessary 32-bit legacy apps need to be sure that they will run before they convert.
