Importing historical teams
I want to import some historical teams, using the free version of OOTP8, and I am having trouble knowing where I import them from. I am on the "Edit League Structure" page, and I am not sure what database I should import the teams from.

Somewhere along the line, they started including a Lahman database with the game. I think that may have happened after OOTP 8. If that's the case, I think you would need to download a copy of the Lahman database independent from the game. Then place that Lahman database in the game directory. Then, when you select the database location, select where you just placed the Lahman database.
This was a standard procedure in previous versions of the game. I think if you did a search of the forum for Lahman database, you would most likely find detailed instructions consistent with version 8. To save yourself of this trouble, I'd recommend buying version 10 if you can afford it. You pick up a lot of additional features and improvements and boom, your historical database is ready to roll once the game is installed. |

Or use OOTP8 as an extended demo.....and if you like it I can certainly recommend OOTP10.
